We would like to invite you to attend the 37th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society of Nephrology this coming March 29 to April 1, 2017. This joint meeting with the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) will be attended by nephrology experts from the US, Australia, and Asia-Pacific. The theme of the meeting is “Translational Nephrology: Research outcomes to Clinical Applications”. Our expert panel, local and international, will take the lead in the discussions. The talks will help translate important research outcomes into action that will address the means to improve care of the renal patient in the context of healthcare in a developing nation. The 3-day meeting will include lectures on a wide spectrum of renal diseases and their management.
The incidence and prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the Philippines are on the rise. In our country, majority of patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) are started and maintained on hemodialysis as a form of renal replacement therapy. While the CKD population increases, there is a need to align the knowledge and skills of all the members of the team providing the care for hemodialysis patients.
