The first
paragraph of our Vision Statement says: The Philippine Society of Nephrology is
a cohesive body that ensures adherence to the highest standards of excellence in
training and research in the field of Nephrology. It commits itself to train, regulate
and support its members to enable them to be globally competitive, ethical, excellent
and compassionate. In consonance with our Vision Statement, the Society, under the
leadership of our immediate past president- Dr. Libertad Rosales, had tasked the
Committee on Ethics, chaired by- Dr. Adriano dela Paz and his committed members,
to draft a PSN code of Ethics. The Code was presented and distributed to the membership
during the PSN Annual Business Meeting last April 21, 2004. The present Board of
Directors has unanimously approved the Code of Ethics and is enjoining all the members
to abide by the principles prescribed therein and to use the Code to guide all of
us in the conduct of our profession as Nephrologists. May we always remember- 1
Corinthians 10:31: whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.
