PSN Membership Benefits




  • Any PSN member of good standing (diplomate, fellow, life member, life fellow ) is entitled to sickness benefit


  • Illness requiring at least 15 days continuous hospitalization, 30 days cumulative, interrupted hospitalization or major surgery, and supported by the necessary proofs of claims (medical/hospital records) is eligible for coverage


  • Sickness Benefit is given as a one-time entitlement to a qualified member in the amount of twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00)



  • Any PSN member of good standing (diplomate, fellow, life member, life fellow) at the time of death is entitled to death benefit.


  • In the event of death of the member, the spouse or immediate member of the family (father/mother/sibling as the case may be) shall receive the benefit of the deceased member unless he/she has specified beneficiary.


  • The amount of twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00) shall be paid within 15 days after the notification of death has been made and the Committee on Membership has verified the member’s status of good standing.



  • Any PSN member of good standing (diplomate , fellow, life member, life fellow ) at the time of disability is entitled to disability benefit.


  • In the event of disability, the member may file in writing to avail of disability benefit.


  • Temporary disability is defined as incapacity to practice medicine for a continuous period of at least 60 days. Permanent disability is defined as incapacity to practice medicine for the rest of one’s life.


  • A member is eligible to receive twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00) for temporary disability and may be able to avail another twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00) in the event  of  permanent disability. Disability shall be paid only to a member for a maximum of forty thousand pesos (P40,000.00) in a lifetime. (Kindly check if the wording is clear enough)
  • A member who has become permanently disabled will be exempted from payment of annual dues.


  • Disability from self-inflicted injury is not eligible for this benefit.

Manner of Processing of Disability Benefit:

  • All applications for disability benefit must be submitted within 60 days in case of temporary disability where the member was unable to practice for a continuous period of 60 days or within 180 days or 6 months from contracting the disability in the case of continuing permanent disability.  The disabled member shall submit to the PSN the following documents:
    • Disability benefit claim
    • Medical Certificate from the attending physician starting the inclusive date of disability
    • Endorsement of the President of the corresponding chapter.  The PSN Membership Committee shall upon receipt of these documents immediately process the claim and if they are in order, pay the benefit within 15 days upon receipt of the claim with the corresponding requirement or supporting documents.

 Legal Assistance


  • Any PSN member of good standing (diplomate, fellow, life member, life fellow) is entitled to legal assistance benefit.


  • A letter of request for such assistance must be filed in writing.  Assistance will only be given when there is a demand letter, an actual case has been filed, or subpoena has been served.


  • A one-time assistance may be availed by a qualified member on cases which are medico-legal in nature amounting to twenty thousand pesos (P20,000. 00).

 Natural Disaster


  • Any PSN member or co-member of good standing (diplomate, fellow, life member, and life fellow) may file for natural disaster benefit.


  • A total loss of more than 50% of his residence and household properties as a result of natural calamity ( fire, flood, storm ) is entitled to a one-time natural disaster benefit from PSN amounting P10,000 ( ten thousand pesos)
  • In case of widespread calamities where a great number of members are affected and the viability of the program is endangered, the benefits under this program may be correspondingly reduced by the Board of Directors.
